3D Modeling

3D Modeling saw a wide range of projects done. First up came the task of designing three different bottles with different sizes, shapes, and colors. After that came an opportunity to create a design for a classroom at Akron, followed by making a 3D representation of my logo. Finally, using Photoshop and Dimension’s 3D technology, I created four concepts for an abstract swirl I created.

Project 1: Three Bottles

The first project for 3D Modeling was to create three different bottles through SketchUp and Dimension. The goal was to use different shapes for the bottles and different colors for the liquid. This allowed students the opportunity to make their own design for the bottles.

Project 2: Classroom Design

The second project for 3D Modeling featured the opportunity to make a design for room 127a at Folk Hall. Students were able to make their own designs as to how the classroom could look. After constructing the basic shape of the room, students decided on their own what desks to use and how they would be arranged.

Project 3: 3D Logo

The third project gave students the opportunity to make a 3d printed version of their logo from the time. It allowed students to learn the ways of using the 3D printer and how it works. It also gave students a chance to think of several ways to design the printed mark, whether it would be a single letter or an engraved type.

Project 4: 3D Abstract Form

The final project focused on students making several different concepts for a 3D spiral. Students learned how to create a spiral through creating several dots on Photoshop. This was followed by using Photoshop’s 3D features to create several spirals, and it was subsequently followed by using several different colors, renders, and views in Dimension.
